BAN ‘NEWAXE’ TV & FILM ADS
What is the logic of showing a large number of bikini-clad girls on TV screens in bare minimum underwear rushing towards a lonely man using ‘Newaxe’ deodorant spray? It is nothing but obscene display of females to promote a product. Union government should not only ban this advertisement but also book the advertiser, models and others associated with production and airing this advertisement under various sections relating to obscenity in public so that no one may dare using women for vulgar publicity of their products. Even banning such ads after being aired for long benefits advertisers because it makes their products as news-item for even wider publicity that too absolutely free. It may be recalled that an underwear-ad was banned for similar reasons of obscenity but without any criminal action after a long period of being aired thus encouraging present ‘Newaxe’ advertisement. Union government should either set up a Censor-Board for screening advertisement-films, or should instruct Film Censor Board to own responsibility. Even action against TV channels for airing obscenity-filled ads can serve the purpose as being self-regulating.
